After the COVID 19 pandemic, the educational institutions are again moving to the online classes again. Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to go to online mode of classes considering the safety of university students after declaring holidays in secondary and primary schools due to the ongoing intense heat wave and extreme heat. However, ongoing exams will be held physically, during this time.

This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the university on Sunday, April 21, in the afternoon. The university's public relations office confirmed the matter.

In the notification issued in this regard, the University Registrar Prabir Kumar Sarkar said that online classes will be held in Dhaka University until further notice to avoid health risks due to the ongoing heat wave. 100 percent online classes will be held instead of the current 10 percent online classes and the exams will continue as usual.

In this case, if a student wants to come out of the hall or home, seven suggestions have been given in that notification to avoid health risks.

It is said that any student who wants to come out of the hall or the house is advised to follow the following hygiene rules carefully to avoid health risks: Students should wear white or light-colored loose cotton clothes. Stay in the shade as much as possible. Use a wide-brimmed hat or umbrella when going out; should drink clean water, if necessary, drink salty liquids such as food saline. Avoid drinking heat-raising drinks like tea and coffee.
